The main reasons hosts often decline a reservation include the following:

  • Incomplete traveler profile
  • Perfil incompleto del viajero
  • The type of trip does not go according to the rules of the property

Hosts have up to 24 hours to accept or decline a reservation, travelers must wait less than 24 hours to get a response and know if they can stay at the property.

Cancellations

We are sorry that you have to cancel your trip. Canceling a trip in Pied a Terre is very easy. You should consider that a service charge will be made to the bank account provided and the cancellation policies on the trip will be taken into account in the case of a refund.

We have 4 cancellation policies for stays of less than 29 nights. For long stays of more than 30 nights we have a cancellation policy. Click on each one to learn more about it:

The following scenarios apply to all cancellations:

Cancellation policies may vary depending on the room, the property and the time of year / season. You should review the specific policy that applies to the establishment where you want to make a reservation at Pied à Terre. Cleaning fee is refunded if canceled before local arrival time. Three consecutive cancellations by a traveler within the one year period are automatically non-refundable. If there is any dispute between traveler and owner, Pied a Terre mediates and will reach a resolution of the conflict. A reservation is officially canceled when the traveler or host clicks a CANCEL RESERVATION button on the page and receives a confirmation email. Cancellation policies may be invalidated by the guest refund policy, these being for reasons of force majeure or cancellations by Pied á Terre. Modifications to dates or number of guests before 24 hours is possible only if the host accepts the new requirements of the traveler. The names of the traveler (s) can be modified at any time only by including the official identification of the person responsible for the message within the platform. After booking and in any cancellation policy, the refund does not include the platform service charges. To obtain a full refund of the reservation less service charges, the cancellation must be made 24 hours after making the reservation.

The cancellation policy -Non Refundable- automatically offers the traveler a discount of 10%. However, after 24 hours have passed and you want to cancel, there is no refund with this policy. The elapsed time counts from the approval of the reservation by the host.

The cancellation policy -Semi-flexible- in case of cancellation before 72 hours of the local time of arrival, an average night of the reservation will be charged plus service charges.

A reservation from Thursday to Monday, with a more expensive weekend rate, takes the average per night.

If the traveler cancels after 72 hours and before 48 hours of the local time of arrival, two nights and service charges are paid. If the traveler cancels 48 hours or less before the local arrival time, there is no refund.

The Relaxed cancellation policy in case of cancellation before 72 hours of the local time of arrival, an average night of the reservation will be charged plus service charges.

A reservation from Thursday to Monday, with a more expensive weekend rate, takes the average per night.

The relaxed cancellation policy allows you to cancel a reservation before 72 hours of local arrival time, refunding the total reservation except service charges.

The strict cancellation policy cancellations made before 7 days before the local arrival time the charge is 50% of the reservation including service charges. Counting the time from the approval of the reservation by the host.

Cancellations or modifications made 24 to 30 days before the arrival date apply a refund percentage depending on the number of days in advance. -If you cancel 30 days later, the total reservation is refunded. -If the traveler cancels 25 days before the local arrival time, 30% of the reservation will be refunded without including service charges. -If the traveler cancels 24 days before the local arrival time, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Payments

The refund policy is effective in different situations. Refund policies Pied à Terre supports the traveler in situations beyond their reach. If an agreement is not reached with the owner, you can contact our Pied a Terre team who will try to reach a resolution to the conflict. We will verify that the owner of the issue in question has been notified and informed before contacting us. Our team will be communicating in a maximum of 24 hours.

The Pied à Terre refund policies support the traveler in situations beyond their reach. Situations where refund policies apply:

The property described on the platform does not match the property in reality or is inaccurate (it is not the location, it does not have the number of rooms mentioned, it does not have the services described.)

The host does not provide the way to access the property, did not leave keys or instructions to enter.

The property has an animal or pet that was not mentioned.

The property is not clean upon arrival, it does not meet Pied à Terre standards.

The property is currently being rented by other people, it is not available.

To receive a refund, you must collaborate with our Pied à Terre team supporting us with some photographs, calls and documentation that demonstrate the situation of your conflict. It is important not to have been the cause of the conflict by action, omission, or negligence. This conflict resolution is non-transferable, and may not even be exchanged, transferring the benefits to another time or people.

If the situation warrants an emergency in exchange of ownership. Pied à Terre will endeavor to accommodate you in another of our properties similar to the one you chose and the amount of your refund will depend on the situation of the conflict and its resolution. The traveler will know if their dispute applies for a refund after sending an email

with the description of the conflict. Pied à Terre will be reimbursing the amount to be defined within 24 hours to 72 hours depending on the destination or place of the owner of the card with which the reservation was made.

Taxes

El Gobierno de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos, en adelante “México” ha emitido una regulación explícita aplicable a la prestación de servicios en plataformas electrónicas para la reservación y prestación de servicios de hospedaje de acuerdo a lo siguiente:

El Impuesto al Valor Agregado IVA - De acuerdo al Decreto de Ley publicado el 6 de diciembre de 2019 que entró en vigor el 1 de enero de 2020, Sección II, Artículo 18J, en todos los casos se sumará en forma expresa y por separado, a las reservaciones el IVA.

Importante ver el apartado de facturación, ya que recibirás una factura por los servicios contratados directamente por Pied à Terre, y una factura por la renta de la propiedad y servicios adicionales que hayas decidido contratar, misma que será emitida por el propietario.

Impuesto sobre Hospedaje (ISH) - Este impuesto varía dependiendo de cada Estado en la República Mexicana y es aplicable a las propiedades que se encuentren en dicha jurisdicción y ofrezcan un servicio de hospedaje en donde exista una contraprestación (pago). Se calcula solamente a la tarifa de hospedaje por el número de noches reservadas. Es obligación de las plataformas electrónicas el sumarla.

En Pied à Terre estamos 100% comprometidos con nuestra comunidad de Host y Viajeros, por lo que siempre tendremos un estricto apego a la legislación aplicable. Es por esto que, con la responsabilidad que tenemos de dar estricto cumplimiento a la ley, evitarás cualquier contratiempo en tu experiencia Pied a Terre, ya sea con la renta de propiedades en el caso de los Host, o con el periodo de descanso en las propiedades reservadas para el caso de los Viajeros.

Cargos por servicio

In order for our Pied à Terre platform to function properly, it meets your needs and expectations, we have an efficient work team, we cover the cost of the products and services we offer, such as our personalized attention, we charge a service commission which it is charged when making a reservation.

We charge Travelers a service fee of 15% *

* The amount is calculated according to the total amount of the reservation including the additional services that you have chosen to contract, to which is added the taxes applicable to each country and region.
